| This ornate doorway leads to one of Kahoi-Dong's larger hanoks which has also seen some re-building, though not in connection with the Bukchon Plan. Without the safeguards that preserve the overall visual character of, for example, Hampstead Garden Village, or Letchworth, it remains possible in Korea for private owners to make changes to their property that are quite out of keeping with the area. |
